1. Design and develop sensor systems for scientific instruments, including the selection and integration of sensors
2. Conduct feasibility studies and proof-of-concept experiments to evaluate sensor technologies
3. Conduct literature reviews of articles, patents, white papers, etc. to develop designs
4. Develop and optimize sensor interfaces, including signal conditioning and data acquisition
5. Integration of sensors with various devices like microcontrollers, SBCs, FPGAs, etc.
6. Perform testing and validation of sensor systems to ensure accuracy, precision, and reliability
7. Analyze sensor data and develop algorithms for signal processing and interpretation
8. Document sensor development processes, including design specifications, test protocols, and validation reports
9. Troubleshoot and resolve sensor performance and integration issues during development and prototyping
