About the internship

At IIT MADRAS PTF We are seeking motivated and talented Database Engineering Interns to join our team. This role will primarily focus on database engineering and architecture using C, C++, Linux, and PostgreSQL. As an intern, you will work closely with our database engineering team to design, develop, and maintain efficient and scalable database systems.

Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include:

1. Assist in the design and implementation of database architecture solutions using C, C++, Linux, and PostgreSQL.
2. Collaborate with senior engineers to optimize database performance, data integrity, and scalability.
3. Participate in the development of database schemas, tables, indexes, views, and functions.
4. Analyze and resolve database performance issues, performing query optimization.
5. Support database migration, backup, and restoration activities.
6. Test and debug database applications and systems.
7. Participate in code reviews, testing, and quality assurance processes.
8. Document database architecture, processes, and procedures.

Other requirements

1. Pursuing or completing a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

2. GOOD knowledge of database concepts, data structures, and algorithms.

3. Familiarity with programming in C, C++, and Linux.

4. A basic understanding of PostgreSQL or other relational databases is an added advantage

5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

6. Ability to work in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
